Default Turkey hotline!

Bass, my mother always cooked the turkey covered until the last hour or so. Some instructions say to make a "tent" of aluminum foil, which is what my mom did. I generally cook it covered and remove the cover later on for browning.

The instructions we have with today's birds says to cook uncovered at 325 degrees. So which is it?

my head hurts

what i would do is cover the breast while cooking with foil as white meat cooks faster than dark meat - so if you want juicy breast meat - just cover the breast and then 30 mintues before it's done - uncover it so that the whole bird is golden brown

Never understood why people who drink and get a headache drink again...

Only cover part of the turkey? Never heard that one before.

We have a turkey that's about to go in the oven now. I refuse to touch it and have no responsibility for it whatsoever.

I baked cookies last night. These are cookies from scratch (not dissing Betty here at all!). It's my annual baking spree. Now it's over for another year. Phew!!!

Yes, I know you are all shocked by the fact that I actually spent time in the kitchen. All fingers are accounted for and there was no bloodshed at all. It's what I deem a successful night. There was only a minor bit of four letter word use but the dog didn't run and hide so it must not have been that bad.

Guess my question is do you think my guests will eat my home made cookies or will they fear for their lives?

Do you think because I have nothing to do with cooking the turkey then it should be safe to consume?

When do I cook the frozen pie??

This whole turkey dinner thing is taxing. I'll probably have to take a nap before dinner due to the stress.

Rick did a ton of the prep stuff last night, so we're in good shape. I'm doing some "stuff" around the house

I'd be more thankful this holiday if I had a cleaning lady.

Lynda, we'd be happy to come over and consume some cookies....we'll I would, but I don't see that happening. Rick has to be at work early tomorrow.

I have no further turkey question right now.
