Umm... I shouldnt mod
Pardon my earlier rant (for those that saw it) as I was fairly PO'd while installing the FIPK.
I got stuck as the directions arent the best in the world and I dont have much automotive knowledge. I was about 1/4 the way through and I was concerned about ruining my car.
I spoke to Scott this morning, and as tough as it was for him to understand my newb speak he basically helped me understand a few things and that I was going in the right direction. Thanks Scott!
Anyway... I did it, I hope.
It didnt help that the kit came short a few bolts and nuts but I was able to pick them up at Loews. I also want to send a big F U to the guy who designed the heat shield and where the bolts go. I about broke my fingers trying to contort myself to secure them during install.
There is also one hose that goes from the intake hose to the cam cover (?) that doesnt use any hose clamps. I think I will add some as I think it comes off too easy.
Im going to limit my driving of the S to short trips until I can get someone local to take a peek at my work and make sure I didnt for sure FUBAR something without knowing. If anyone has the knowledge and can look it over I would appreciate it. Otherwise I have to bug Jeff again... I wanna give the guy a break after everything else hes done for me.
If I did do it right, its by far the most complicated automotive thing Ive ever done. I guess that doesnt say too much as I havent done much of anything and this is supposedly one of the easier mods to do.
I think Im done modding.
