UPDATE on SCDA Track Events
Hi everyone
Well, I got an e-mail back from SCDA. Ian has given me the discount price listing for NES2KO.
5-9 cars will reduce us by a percentage from the normal price. 10 or more will reduce us down to even more!

So... we will start off with the first event that all of us are allowed to attend....
New Hampshire International Speedway; Wednesday, April 17
How many are interested in going.
I will start off with myself
ME!!!

I am also very interested in taking an extended weekend trip over to Watkins Glen. The Watkins Glen events are on Monday, May 6th and Tuesday, May 7th. And our discount program works for this event also. If you are interested in going, you could count me in for this, as I have always wanted to see that track. And Ian's explaination of it was "It is a 3+ mile course that is out of this world. It makes NHIS look like a kiddy park" Well actually I think I embelished his quote... his sounded better

And to further confirm what everyone else has mentioned before
:
Factory Hartop and/or aftermarket roll bar is accepted at Limerock. So all of you hardtop and aftermarket roll bar owners... you can start racing before all of us on March 25th and 26th at Limerock. Wish I could

Glenn,
I have to check with my Dr first, then unfortunately have to see how I feel, but naturally I would love to attend NHIS on the 17th and would love to see Watkins Glen too. Since registration is usually made in advance though, I cant reserve anything right now, so perhaps will try to just plan to attend the Dragon. I think the Dragon probably tops the fun scale factor anyways

Honestly, the drive down is a little boring, but can be done in 16 hours, and with a group of S2000's doing the trip together, it makes it more tolerable. Actually, some of the roads on the way down there are pretty nice to drive on, nice and twisty, but thats only when you start to get close to our destination. The Dragon itself is well worth the drive however, in my opinion. Just imagine driving along a mountain side, over 11 miles long, with over 300 curves, various changes in elevation, with a legal speed limit of 45 (I think), most the times which you are unable to even match, let alone exceed......so, it's all legal. The only thing you cant do is cross the solid yellow line. The course itself is much more challenging than NHIS, for instance, and if you make a mistake, you either go crashing straight into a wall of rocks, or go down the side of a cliff. Therefore, the only thing you should not do is drive beyond your ability. We usually drive in a group, so make sure you go with people with your same skill level.....safer to go slightly slower than your level cause you dont want to make a mistake there anyways....and you are guaranteed to still have a blast!
Another fun thing to do while on the Dragon is to pull over to the side of the road (not many areas where this can be done), and just listen and then watch the other S2000's come flying past you. It's an awesome sound to hear the heel-toe downshifts of several S2000's approaching a curve hidden behind the trees, followed by the 9000 rpm scream as they go past the straight, just feet from you. There is one stretch of road that is the perfect spot for pulling over to listen and see this happening.....hope I can find it again, cause it was a lot of fun just being there. Hope that helps get up your enthusiasm for the drive down
Jim/Glenn....any more words of enthusiasm?
