The owners manual states to let the car warm for about 30 seconds and then drive off. I believe it also states that doing otherwise is not benefical at all.

Will - think about changing your tranny fluid - it will shift like butter even if it's cold

oil was fine, tried the map sensor, (maybe i wasn't tapping hard enough), i felt it once out of four tries. 2nd gear was always such a punch but now it just seems to roll past vtec smoothly

You may need to take off the Vtec solenoid and see if the filter is clogged. I did this last week. Comes off easy with three 10mm bolts. Some people have reported that banging the solenoid works too.

did you install any mods to your car?

as we know, after you install Spoon header or Mugen ECU, it smooth out the VTEC engage point....

its a little round - almost looks like a C-Size battery on a flat triangle piece of metal with 3 10mm bolts holding it on, and 1 wire coming out of it.

It's on the front of the engine, passenger's side - near the valve cover.

Wow - do you realize you have 31 PPD average. That's INCREDIBLE.
