16 is harder?
I think you need to clarify here.
16 is harder to win bigger $/hand, yes - that's b/c neither you nor other players have the opportunity to form a big hand.
16 is harder to strategize your hand w/ respect to your nemesis'... ugh, opponents', NO!

Just to give you a easiest idea about this, 16 cards, you need 17 cards to win, even a shitty one..!!

hey, it is ok..!!
the thing is, you guys don't know how to play 16... if you do, then you will know it..!! And yes, we usually run out the card once every ...say 4 games normally... with those who knows how to play and how to do the defense..!! and, hey, I am not trying to say which one is better... I only tell by what I see..!! even tell you why in math..!! so.. no biggie..!! if you don't like it...hey, no problem for me, cuz it is just like me that don't like 13's ..

What you are missing the point is: 13 cards has a minimum of point you need to achieve in your hand in order to win. That eliminates many options and "chicken hands". For example, you can't have both pair combo and straight combo of different suit in your hand w/o certain wild card to claims a win...b/c that's considered a chicken hand. You get it now?

Yes, it has one less combo you have to make, but the limited option far out weighs it. The result: you have to strategize a bigger (and subsequently a more predictable) hand and you can now try to predict what other players are trying to do too, if you are attentive enough. That further limits your option b/c you won't want to risk throwing out what you think other players need to win a big hand. Other players will try to do the same to you while doing all the little tricks to confuse you and hide his intended hand. That's what make things challenging. You get it now?

You want proof? Of all the hands we played, did we ever have one game where it got hung b/c we went out of cards? If my memory serves me correctly, the number was 0. This usually happens 2-3 times in 13 cards given the same number of games we played.

Let me get my language straight here:
13 is more challenging to play.
13 is harder to win, which you disgree on but I am not going to argue this particular point any further. If you think 16 cards is "harder", fine.
