Default Windshield replaced...

Can someone take a look at his/her S?

If I am looking from the outside, the hard plastic trim near the bottom of the windshield is not flush with the windshield....it leaves a gap between the glass and the trim.

It looks like it can collect water in this gap though, hopefully there is a drain hole to drain all the water....etc.

I know, without picture it is hard to say.

But can anyone take a look at their S or better yet take a close up picture right above where the trim and the windshield met.

I need to have something to compare to, so that I can be sure they installed my windshield correctly.

Thanks!

Did the installer apply tape to the windshield trim after it was installed? And if he did... did you remove this too early?

Nope, no tape. Executive glass. I had them done it before. The guy said they used some special sealant, no tape was needed.

Oh, maybe you are thinking about the soft plastic trim on the around the windshield. I was referring to the hard plastic trim below, you know that large piece of plastic which has holes to accomodate the wipers. The piece that they put it to cover the lower part (couple of inches) of the windshield after the windshield was put into place.

isn't that piece held into place with clips?

just get some new clips BUT the hard plastic part should sit right up against the windshield.

Try pushing down on the panel. It might not be clipped in all the way.
