Default Winter?

Hi all..

I just bought a 2005 S2000, and now I am very strapped for cash, so needless to say I am ganna, need to drive this for this winter, or for the first part of it atleast. I really dont want to - but you gotta do what you gotta do right... So I am just wondering what I'm getting my self into, looking for some hints and tricks. The dealer put 4 new tires on the car when I picked it up.

I live in Connecticut and I take the bus to work (down town Hartford) so I really don't drive far, I only drive about 1 1/2 miles to the bus stop no hills. So its really not that bad.

I know I will get alot of feedback saying dont do it, and believe me, if I had another choice I would do that. But I have no choice other than to drive it till i can find a winter beater and have money for it.

A lot of people drive theirs in the winter. The most important thing is
to have snow tires or at least all season tires on the car. The summer
tires turn into hockey pucks when the temperatures drop below
freezing and are not meant for any type of winter driving.

I drive mine year round. As previously stated, get a good set of winter tires. I bought a set of 16" Tire Rack brand rims with snows. The S is pretty much a tank with them. Good luck!

f Brian can drive his year round anyone can! Especially if you live in CT which has much milder winters and im positive way less snow than Maine. I do know however snow varies and even though Brian is only 40 miles south of me he is more on the coast which means WAY less snow than inland where i am.

Ahhh gotcha,

Would you suggest all 4 tires be replaced with winters/all seasons? I was looking at these on tire rack. I got a quote from firestone down the street from me, and they told me about 1,000$ for a set of 4 winter tires. Put sand bags in the tuck too?

when you lose control, lay off the gas and counter steer

you'll be fine with the right set of tires
