Default Wow what a difference

My car for the past couple months has been idling a little rough, and when you down shift and almost come to a stop it would hesitate. All signs that I had a Map Sensor problem. I tried all the fixes post on this site to no avail. So, I ordered the sensor from Jeff (Hardtopguy) on Monday and it arrived yesterday. Now thats what I call service. I installed it last night, and all I can say is WOW! The idle smoothed right out and no more down shift issues. It also seemed like I recaptured some acceleration. It could just be my butt dyno making me think that.

So, if any of you are having simular symptoms it's the best $45 I've spent. It also came with a new fastener that zip ties the wiring harness to the sensor. I guess according to Jeff there was a TSB because the harness was coming loose from the sensor.

Hmm, I've got the mild "engine shake" on approaching (passing) idle at a stop occasionally. I haven't whacked the MAP yet, but I'm considering it. But you said it didn't help you out at all?

Yes, in my case it didn't make it any better. I also tried cleaning out the throttle body and that didn't work either.

However, now it's like a new car!

I was thinking about it and Glenn offered to have it changed, but I think I'm going to keep it for now.

I noticed on mine that sometimes when I come to a complete stop, the RPM's drop and it has a little shake, then goes buck up to 1000 rpm, would that be the case as well?

Yep, I would change the map sensor. That was another problem I had also, not anymore!

Don't let the dealership charge you to install it. It's 5 minutes and a philips head screw driver. My niece could do it. She is 2 1/2 yrs old.
