I use a Sandisk Sansa Express. Which they don't make anymore, but you can still find new on eBay.

Sandisk Sansa Express 2 GB

I have the 2 GB internal memory. It takes up to 2 GB microSD cards, too. FM radio, OLED screen. And good battery life. No need to carry a recharge cable - just plug in to a USB port.

And they're cheap.
