Default Yardwork-the final push.

Spent the day blowing and raking leaves and I'm only about 1/3 done. PITA!!! I'm about 4 years away from a condo or a paved yard.

I find it interesting how willing people are to bear the burden of yardwork while working many hours at earning a living; but immediately upon retirement, when there is much more time available for personal stuff yardwork becomes anathema.

Just two things you got sick of doing after 45 years.

You must have a huge yard. Took us about 3 hours to finish the backyard, and thats conservative.

Cut down all trees near your house.

Finished my yard a couple o weeks back. Really not to hard to do. Just use the bagged and run over it a couple of times. I planned for trees and leaves when I landscaped but for me that it was easy since I started with a blank yard.

Yeah Dave. that is what I do down the cape. I don't have a mower in Canton. The lot is 34,000 sq. ft and most of it is lawn or beds, so it take quite a bit of work. I finished another third today, leaving the back yard. I think I'll leave that for the spring. Due to Chris's dog, the back yard is trash anyway.

Lainey, unfunny thing about trees. We actually cut down a bunch of the big pines this year. Result? A ton deciduous leaves from the neighbors yard blew into my yard. I guess the big pines used to block them out.

Don't it always seem to go, that you don't know what you got till it's gone.

We're lucky we don't end up with a ton of leaves from the park, but lots of pine trees in there might help. We get a regular collection of leaves in front of the deck, but that's about it.

Not so many trees in neighboring yards to blow into our yard, many lost to disease or new septic systems.
