there's an old saying on my firewood board... you can never have enough split & dry firewood these guys like to be two / three years ahead of the game whereas i think i'm only 1 year ahead of the game

i figure i'll be done when i fill in the section of land that i cleared with rows of split & stacked firewood
Jesus! Plymouth Plantation just called and they want their faux colonial cottages back!

So, most people burn oil or gas and use the wood to supplement it?

nope most on the firewood board burn wood and use oil / gas to supplement the wood they may spend 300 a year on oil..

some of these guys don't even have oil and gas but rather Outdoor wood furnace and they get all their heat / hot water with wood alone and others use wood for their sole source of heat and they burn 24/7 from oct to march

me - (my insert is too small for 24/7) so i figure i'm going to burn when i get home from work and burn on the weekends - a few times last year the house was 80 (almost too hot) while it was freezing out
