Honda Air Pump
My air pump in my car is going out. I do not want the delete kit, I would much rather get a new air pump instead even though it's quite a bit more expensive, I don't wanna have to deal with the even more expensive repairs that a damaged air pump can cause.
My mechanic had been looking all over the place for me, and the only one that will work with the S2000 is the one from Honda which is "order only". All in all it'll cost me about $800+ for it unfortunately I'm not made of money.
I was wondering if anyone has had air pump problems as well, and how you resolved them. Also curious to see if anyone out there will be a dear and let me get a Honda air pump discounted (I know a lot of you know people who work for Honda and get stuff discounted... I don't).

You can buy a new one from Majestic Honda online for ~$515.
They pop up in the "Member classifieds" quite often, as well, if you're interested in a used one.
F/S thread...for example.

I have an air pump with approximately 42k on it. I am still figuring it out if my car will pass Japanese emissions without it. I mean c'mon 06s and up don't even have the EGR valve on the manifold. it better pass!!!
If you don't find one in decent time I would probably part with mine.

The air pump injects fresh air into the exhaust system during startup to help the cat heat up quicker and start working sooner. This doesn't impact the lifespan of the cat, as you're just bringing it up to operating temp a little quicker than if there was no air pump. Many cars do not use air pumps and the cats live long and healthy lives. I wouldn't worry about hurting the cat by removing your pump.
The air pump simulator option from Izze Engineering seems like a decent alternative, considering the potential price of these pumps.

I've actually gotten offers for pumps that are just as affordable as the delete kits, and I would prefer that anyways there are so many helpful people on this site!
