Default Road Trip Proposal

OK - here is a proposal for a road trip that will hopefully bring in a few more folks from Alamogordo and Roswell:

1. Common meet point for everyone will be the Owl Bar in San Antonio on HW 380. Lunch will be there with the world famous green chili burgers.

2. ABQ drivers can get there via I-25 south, past Socorro to HW 380 and then east about a mile

3. Alamogordo (Holloman AFB) drivers can get there via HW 54 to Carrizozo and then west on HW 380 to San Antonio

4. Roswell drivers can get there straight on HW HW 70/380 west past Carrizozo to San Antonio

5. After lunch - Everyone can head back east on HW 380 to Carrizozo. Here the ABQ folks can head north on HW 54 to the HW 14 junction and then head north to Mountainair. We can continue to head north to Moriarty and then return to ABQ via I-40 west. Roswell/Alamogordo folks may want to continue with us or head back home from Carrizozo.

6. Estimated duration for everyone: about 4-5 hours.

7. Proposed date: Saturday, January 31 (Super Bowl Weekend)

Jerry and everyone else - what do you think of this proposal?

Forgot to add that if Jan 31 does not work out for most everyone - perhaps another weekend after that

sounds good to me so far. do we have an estimated distance total? i really really want to go but im coming up onto 60k miles and its an 05 so i dont want to add hundreds of miles in one day. but i dont think it wil be too bad. i dont know if most people will go because of the superbowl and depending on how this GTO im doing interior goes will fully determine if i can go or not. good idea though

Super Bowl is on Sunday (1 Feb). For us ABQ folks, I estimate it will be less than 200 miles. Of course we could shorten it by heading back to ABQ from Socorro. Socorro is about 70 miles from here

No - San Antonio, New Mexico. Just sourth of Socorro. ABQ folks, we could shorten the "circle" by heading back north on I-25 and then take HW 60 to Mountainair and then north.
