Thumbs up Anyone here installed a short shifter?

I got a short shifter that came in the mail today. Same one that Ray has and i tried it out at the headlight clearing tech day and felt great. I am trying to put it in now and everything works but then no reverse. No instructions or anything so just using common sense as to where the rings and collars that came with it go. Anyone have any experience on installing it? I doubt it is the same type as an axial flow one or anything. This one has a raised pivot point so I think installs differently.

Alright got it all fixed now. It wasn't in backwards but the little collar thing was in the wrong spot so wouldn't sit correctly I guess. Works perfect now and feels great. Spent $50 shipped on it! love it.

I got it on ebay for $50 i'll find the link. I just went for the first spin. it is fricken awesome!! By far the best $50 I have ever spent on my car.
I think it is exactly the same as the one for $100 on ebay which people have had great results with. I shifted into 2nd gear and it really feels like it is half the throw as before!

Here is the one I got. Install would have been easy if there were instructions as I couldn't figure out where one piece went. The only pain in the ass part was removing the stock plastic shift lever cover thing.

here is the link to where I bought it.

Short Shifter.

Oh and I did take pics of it which I will upload after I get some dinner haha. Didn't take pics of the whole install which i should have as I got frustrated finding where that piece went and plus being covered in grease makes it hard to take pics. I think I took pics of all the pieces that had to be swapped over to the new one and all though.

Sorry. Just got your PM. You soak that thing in hot water to remove it (according to Allen [TriaxEngine]).

Glad you like it man. $50 is a GREAT deal!
I told you, once you try it, you would want one!

Yeah didn't know anything about soaking that big plastic piece thing to get it off. Did crack a little bit but not in half or anything so still works perfectly fine.
Yeah I love it. Once I cut a little bit off the shift lever I think it will be perfect!!

i know the throw is shorter but is it actually shorter then the stock shift rod height?

like if i used a stock knob on this shifter rod, would it sit lower?

i dont like my voodoo, too cold!

No I do not think it will sit lower. Seems to be the same height. I am just cutting some off the top of the lever though since my shift knob is countersunk and could sit a good bit lower if the lever wasn't so long.

that shifter looks like a knockoff of the c's shifter.
