Default Anyone title a car in NY recently ?

Applied for a title in early June and still haven't received it, it's been over 2 months now, and cannot get to anyone at the title bureau. How long did it take it take yours to arrive ?

My brothers title took a few weeks in early summer.

Is your car from out of state or does its old title have a lien on it?

Yes, car had a Michigan title with no lien, and it was an import (JDM Supra). I figured the shorter VIN will throw things off, but didn't think it would take this long. It's also impossible to get a rep on the phone from the title bureau. I can get someone on the phone from other departments at the DMV, but they always transfer me back to the title bureau, which just has a recording saying they are too busy, and to call back later.

Kind of stuck with no one to go to right now. Frustrating because I want to sell the car and get something else and it's holding everything up.

The Non-US VIN could be the reason for the delay.

Sorry man. NY DMV has the laziest workforce out there and there is not much to do but wait.

in my experience, an out of state title is typically around 3 months wait even before covid.

Do you have your Michigan title? Not sure you need a NY title to sell the car.

You should be able to sell the car with the Michigan title.

The previous Michigan title is sent in along with all the paperwork when I registered the car, I wouldn't have that.

Guess I have another month to wait, potentially.
