I am Attending Phase 1 Evolution school on April 16th and would appreciate some advice.

OMG! The Evolution Driving School absolutely ROCKS!!! I did it in January and learned so much! Now, I had never auto-xed prior to that, so I was a real novice. However, even guys who have tons of auto-x experience found phase I super helpful.

Assuming it's run like it was here, you'll get TONS of seat time! You'll start out & do about 3-4 runs by yourself, then do another 2-3 runs w/ an instructor riding shotgun. You'll switch & the instructor will drive your car w/ you as the passenger. Switch again so that you drive & the instructor's with you. Lastly, you'll go by yourself another 2 times or so. And this is all before you break for lunch!!! After lunch is a similar set of runs by yourself, w/ an instructor (usually a different instructor) as your passenger, w/ the instructor as the driver, and then you alone.

After my 1 day there, I was hooked & since then I've done 2 auto-x events. Don't know if I have any other advice other than be ready for a really good time and lots of driving!!!

When Evolution Driving School comes back to this area, I'm going to do it again. It was THAT good!

I just emailed Ken Frey about that school (4/16 in Westchester) and he told me that it had been canceled...

The site was lost for autocrossing at that site a couple days ago and the school has been canceled.
