Maybe I'll feel differently when I see them on the road, but I agree, these really water down the ///M brand. I really admired BMW for making the old X5 4.6/4.8 which were pretty much ///M cars, but they made sure not to call them that. Now they've done it. I'm disappointed.

I was driving my friends Porsche Cayenne GT Turbo and it was a blast. Even got to kill a STi off the line in one, kinda funny doing it in a SUV.

This should be awesome.

Sick engine design. Two twin scroll turbos with correctly paired exhaust pulses will mean super fast spool on that.
I'm sure 600-650+hp will easily be seen with a simple exhaust and tune on those motors.
Swap that into a 3 series? hmmm

That motor is sick but look at the size of that cat right after the turbo

I like the way they put the exhaust ports on the inside, you could easily put a giant single turbo on that thing.

on the looks. I think its that those vents in the front bumper are too big for the car maybe, but I don't like the design

how does this water down the M brand at all? your telling me that a 4.5 (probably lower since the bmw always underrates the car) 0-60 isnt absolutely insane and deserving of the M name? Or that they probably will put in a suspension that will pull over .90 g on the skid pad?

I think maybe his original argument was turbo vs. NA but horse power ir horse power esp. on S2KI.

I think this engine is finding its way into the next-gen M5.
