Default Bought a Demo 06 S2K

Hey Guys,

I'm new to the forum and glad to be here. As mentioned, I bought a demo 06 s2k early Nov 07. The car had 200 miles from the floor and now has 2000. I "broke" it in properly but can't vouch for the first 200 miles. I believe it was joy-ridden by the young group of salesmen the past year (even had coffee stains in the cup holders). I've done the research and read countless of threads regarding clutch engagement point, rattling tranny, and knotchy (some 2nd gear clunks too) shifting. I hear clunky noises, suspect a high clutch engagement point, and smell clutch odors during semi-hard to hard acceleration. Not sure if it's my shifting or the car. It could also be paranoia. It's hard to fully explain what I'm experiencing over the Internet so I would really appreciate it if someone could drive my car to see if all is normal.

If there are problems, how likely is it to get it inspected and fixed by another dealership without me losing a cent. Can someone also recommend a knowledgable dealership that's dealt with s2ks?

I live in the Giants Stadium area and work in Allendale, NJ. Please let me know if someone would like to meet up. It would be a plus if you had past experiences with a bad clutch, tranny, etc..

Thanks,
Vin

I used to get this on my 05 when I still had th factory clutch delay valve in. It pretty much rides the clutch to save the transmission from abuse when you are doing hard accelerations. Take your ride to Billman for a once over and have him check it out for you.

let's say good possibility of paranoia & that there is no damage ... in AP2's there's a clutch delay valve... causing clutch slippage to 'save' rest of drive train from driver....started in '04 when Honda went AP2... on spirited drives the CDV causes the clutch to slip so as to not over stress the rest of the drive train ... this often results in the smell of burning clutch when you stop or pull into your garage....

mod is to remove CDV from slave cylinder or swap slave cylinder to '03 or prior...

Billman250 does it. You're going to want to know him unless you do 'all' of your own work.

Welcome!

With 2000 miles, his MY 06 might not be ready for a "Once Over" yet... maybe an oil change but not much else. But I'm sure Bill will be more than happy to take your car for a test drive and see what's up. If I were you I would come to Tuesday meet in Queens and hopefully Billman would make an appearance and take a quick diagnose.
