Default CEL - only when it's cold?

My check engine light keeps coming on on really cold days... then on days that it's above freezing, it goes off.... WTH is that all about?

Does it stay on the whole time, or does it go away after a short while of driving? What's up BTW!

I have one of these:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PROFESSIONA...sspagenameZWDVW

$50 and you never have to waste your precious time/gas driving over to an autozone again.

Yep.

Not to mention, since working in Manhattan now, I drive my car 2/10ths of a mile each day - to the train station around the corner and back home.

Would a short walk be so much better?

I dunno, you tell me... I get up at 4:40am... out the door at 5:45 for my 5:55am train.... I get home at 7:40pm and walk in the door at 7:45pm... I think adding even 20 minutes onto my 5 hour round trip commute to work... might just push me over the edge.
