Default DIY for headlight baking? Wanting to take mine apart tomorrow.

Thinking of taking my headlights apart tomorrow to change out the inside of them a little bit. Is there a DIY on this?
I saw it on Ricks site but is there any other info for the baking of it? That says to put in with the oven on. I thought it was better to preheat and then turn the oven off and put in for 20 minutes.
Anyone with experience care to chime in? I've seen them done before but can't remember as it was a good while ago.

I'm completely removing the AP1 diffuser and putting in a new painted inside part so there isn't that chrome reflective corner. I got some chrome amber bulbs to replace the stock clear ones.

I used to do this about 10 years ago with the eg civics. I just preheat my oven to 350, turn it off, and stick it in there for 10 mins, check and see if the glue is soft, if not put for another 10 mins. Make sure you put some cardboard down on the racks so it wont melt some lines in your headlights.

Ok cool. That's what I figured just wasn't sure of the temp. Yeah I will put it on a cookie sheet or something with a damp cloth underneath it.

350 but not leaving it on is what I thought. Preheat to that temp and then turn off and put headlight in no?

I actually just did this on Sunday with me and a few friends baking headlights on our beaters. We set it to 250 degrees preheated (left it on). Cookie sheet on a pan for 7 minutes per headlight and removed it onto a cardboard setting. With a flathead screw driver from the pointiest part of the headlight started to pry around it until the lens popped off.

Re-Assembly we did the same, except 5 minutes in the oven and then removed. Hard pressed together until it cooled down and back into one piece.

Make sure before you throw it into the oven to remove all wires and bulbs. JIC.

So you left it on the whole time right? Need to put a damp towel on the cookie sheet as well?
Also whats up with the second baking. Do you apply the silicone first and then bake again? Forget how that 2nd baking works.
