That thing is sick but I wanted to see him get on it. How fast/powerful is that thing is what I wanna know. Is electric greater than fi? That is the question.

and the power:weight ratio is now incorrect.

the first 1 to do it, has big in my book.....
I'm sure this wasn't a "performance" build, but I've seen videos of drag cars running crazy times... Full Electric.

You have to remember. With Electric motors, you attain MAX Horsepower and Torque at 1 RPM... yes, 1 RPM. so the power is instant, and stays steady to redline.

And, since electric motors typically redline at tens-of-thousands RPM, you almost don't need a tranny.
Kinda like a snowmobile.

I wonder how much a big dc motor like that would be and what is the life of the burshes. If I were doing it, I would have done individual motors inside the wheel wells. this way you can take out the brakes and such. Or a nice v8 biodiesel .. to be " green"

I actually seriously considered turning my POS subaru into an EV.
There are kits out there that run from $2500-5000. Most kits don't include the batteries which are another $2k-ish.

Not exactly cheap, or easy to do.
Which is why I dropped it.

Dc motors are pricey as hell. We use tiny ones at work which are close to 1k without the controller.. Now if I had to guess a big one like that would be well over 5-6k. Its a cool idea, but if you can make it replenish the power via photovoltaic cells, it would be even better, no need to plug in anywhere. Just leave it in the sun.
