Food worthy of a Roadtrip
I'm looking for recommendations of places to eat that are worthy of a roadtrip in the 'S'.
I've done day trips to Philly for a cheesesteak marathon - - - Pat's, Geno's and Jim's. Jim's on South St. is my personal favorite.
We've gone to A/C for subs from the White House.
I've gone to New Haven for clam pies at Pepe's. One of the truly great culinary inventions, ever.
Last Sunday, I took a leisurely drive to Hot Dog Johnny's in Buttzville, NJ. The drive was nice but the dogs disappointed.
If you know a place that is at least 90 minutes from the GWB, I would love to hear about it.
I am very familiar with Hiram (Ft. Lee), Rutt's Hutt (Clifton) and White Manna (Hackensack) - - - I'm hoping for a roadtrip worthy culinary experience.
Thanks,
Michael

Southampton Publick House for PEI Mussels and an Altbier on tap.
Baltimore in May for Softshell Crab.
Montreal for crepes, poutine, Kojak's gyros and la fin du monde & maudite on tap.

www.hotwing.com
It's more than 90 Minutes, but amazing wings, and a decent selection of beers.
I try to go there every time I visit my parents

The White House man where do they get that bread???
Been to Johnnys too... but not in a while... Dam man i know some good roads out there
run down 31 from central NJ, hop down some twisty back roads end up in Belvadier (sp?) NJ
hop across the deleware river then the fun begins, run river road along the deleware river nice curves, crazy climbs and decends...
Run through the Deleware Water Gap
Hit 80 then get off on 46 and run the river back to Johnny's
Epic drive i've been dieing to do, maybe when the leaves change...

Southhampton Publick House sounds terrific. My brother-in-law has a vacation place in Remsenberg, so this may be on the short-list next time we go out.
2 hours for great wings - - - that is not that far. I'll add it to the list, perhaps I can convince the wife with a small detour to The Crossings outlet centers.
Softshells are one of my ALL-TIME favorites - - - Sauteed with a little garlic or deep-fried - - - I could eat them all day, but Baltimore may be a little far for a day trip.
Chicago is probably a little too far - - - but Italian Beef sound pretty good. How about Buffalo for Beef-on-a-Weck?
