Default Gold Plating Service

Does anyone know of any shops that do gold plating on automotive parts?

They're in Queens, my company uses them for most of our plating needs. Ask for Allen Hyman, tell him you know Justin from ACC. Just remember gold plating aint cheap, especially lately with gold near $1200/oz.

Edit: As a point of reference, they're located right between Paragon Honda/Acura.

Yeah and you need to consider your base metal, too. If its aluminum, you can't just plate it gold. They'd need to do electroless nickel on the aluminum so the gold can be plated to the nickel.

Did you think of annodizing gold over a chrome base?

No I have not, I have never seen a gold over chrome finish. Either way I would still need a plating company to chrome plate first and at that point I might as well have them do the whole job.

You can only anodize bare metal.

The anodizing process involves acid, which will ruin any finish or base you have applied to the metal.
