I did this when i was jus tout of school, we had a rental in PA so i registered my car there but you need to leagally establish residency there pay taxes etc.
...you still run the risk in somone calling you out of the cops taking notice that they always see a PA car parked in NJ.

Easy some one stole your front plate and you were chaseing after them.
I had 2 put my front plate on bc of the same thing ( i told the cop the front bracket broke and the plate was dangleing)
Idk if you can see thru my avatar picture but I put my plate in the grill w. zip ties......I find the normal placement makes the S look kinda buck toothed.
