Great Fall Drive in the S
Earlier this year I saw an article in the Wall Street Journal with what they call some of the best scenic drives in the country. Ever since then I've been wanting to try the one they had listed for the Northeast. With fall foliage at full tilt (up there) I finally took the drive today and it was amazing.

The beautiful fall colors started on my way up Rt 15 in NJ as I headed toward Port Jervis NY which, after arriving, was the highlight of the drive. Rt 97 starting outside Port Jervis is scenic and curvy. There's one particular section called the Hawk's Nest which is a set of curves overlooking the Delaware River that is sinfully fun. The area was filled with nice cars and tons of sport bikes just going back and forth through these curves. It was so much fun ripping through those curves, I went back and did it 4 times before proceeding on the drive.
After that insane fun, Rt 97 became very quiet with just a few cars on the road as it wound its way up to Calicoon NY. The foliage and views along the way were spectacular and while my pics don't do it justice, here are a few anyway.
By this part of the drive, there was no one else on the road and I didn't have any cell service. And to be honest, that was a beautiful thing. It was quiet and peaceful. Just me, the S, the curvy roads, and pretty views.
On the way back I got a CEL which is odd considering I only have 17.3k miles on my S and considering it seems to be running perfectly. Nonetheless it was a beautiful drive and I'm glad I decided to do the whole thing. Opportunities for this year may be over but next year I'd love to do it again and take some of you with me.

Awesome pictures, the scenery and roads look fantastic.
I wouldn't worry too much about the CEL, but I'm curious what it is. I had a CEL go off in my car in 2007 with 4K or so miles - IIRC, it was an O2 sensor that was triggering it.

Thanks, Byron. I'm going to be taking her to Autozone today to have the code read. It seemed to be running perfectly the whole time. After babying it for a while I eventually tried VTEC and that seemed perfectly fine, too.
Guys, just be aware if you want to do this route it's pretty much a whole day event. For me it was over 300 miles round-trip. It will prob. be a little less for those who don't live south of the city like I do. I'll put together a run in the spring to kick off the 2011 driving season.
