Illegal to have a license frame in NJ???
I currently have 2 license frames on my car from the dealer I bought the car from until I get my S2KI frame. A friend of mine that has a Benz CLK32 just got a ticket for having a frame on his plate. My other friend's wife got the same ticket a week ago. WTF. My buddy is throwing the ticket back at MB since they put the frame on.
Anyone else have problems in Jersey?
And neither of my friend's frames obstructed or blocked the plate.

Wow.....Maybe they should try no license plate at all in the front... I don't have a license plate in the front and haven't had a problem yet. Most cops won't stop you for license plate until your car is hookup or something....
Kareem
p.s. had my car since jan. no problems since then.

well i just got a ticket in Tenafly NJ for having my radar detector in my windshield, keep in mind it's a V1, and i have it hard wired so there are no wires, and i am 5' 10 so i can see over the V1 and see my hood, i got the ticket for obstructed vission... not to mention i had my mom in the car with me and was doing 29mph (in a 30).... $44 dollars later I am still pissed off at local NJ cops, worst cops in the planet. I asked a friend of mine who is a NYS trooper, and he almost pissed his pants when i got that ticket...

Same here, no front plate, have not been stopped yet. Car 4 months old.
NJ cops can be a pain in the ass. A lot of cars in NJ have frames, the cops can't be stopping all of them. They go through state inspection ok. The cops in some towns have nothing else to do.
Has anyone been stopped in NJ without a front plate on? What happened?

I got stopped a few years ago with my race Monte Carlo SS. It had a 3.5 inch exhaust and a juiced 454 in it, full cage, and mini tubbed. He pulled me over for the noise (even though I know he just wanted to check out the car because I knew this cop raced at Englishtown). He mentioned my tinted windows, and was mostly pissed about the noise and front plate being off. I played dumb and told him I didn't think we needed to use both. He asked me, "Why do you think they give you two?" Only a warning though, I made sure it was on the next day.
I was more afraid he was going to check out my exhaust. I had cats on, but they were just hollowed shells that I welded around the 3.5 inch pipe. hehe
