Yea I said the same thing. But once that little joker started driving auto he never looked back. When I tell him to move the S or even sit behind the wheel while I run in the store he starts making faces.

I had my nephews visiting me from California a few days ago. Aidan, who is 15, saw my S2k was stick and said "Wow..I heard that's really hard to do! You have to like push a 3rd pedal just so the car will change gears? Thats so crazy!"
When I told him how much fun driving a stick shift is and gave him a quick explanation of how it works, he answered me with- "My dad eats a bowl of cereal in his car on the way to work. When he wants to switch lanes, he pushes a button".

It really is sad about the whole manual fading out
When I was purchasing my GTI, the dealerships could not figure out why I would prefer waiting 2-5 months for an ordered GTI with a manual gearbox vs. just taking the DSG off their lots. It was so worth the wait. Those DSGs might be able to accelerate a little faster but they will not have the enjoyment that I experience every day I drive it.
