If we buy the plug and play harness, is installing it something we can do ourselves? I am not too familiar with how the EU wires into the car, but it seems it would be easier with the plug and play harness. If we could do that, and mount it ourselves behind the seat or under, then we could save money that way. We could make a mini tech day out of it, a day or two before Giles comes down to tune.

With the plug and play, it is just a matter of plugging it in and mounting it (which is kind of an issue but not really).

Just one thing though, when you install it, it needs a base tune to get the car moving. So maybe you can mount the unit, but don't plug it in until the day of the tune because without a base tune, we can do anything.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Your reasoning makes sense, but honestly I don't know. Again, we can ask Giles. If you are right, we'll can save some money right there. For those doing the plugs, and/or the colder fan switch/t-stat, we can do that ourselves too.

If i remember correctly, there is not need to tune for partial throttle. I don't remember what he explained to me but, the tune will work for partial throttle also. Something to do with the difference between stand alones and piggy back systems.

FYI, most EU owners report improved throttle responsiveness, even dbw AP2 owners.

The only speculation really is the price. Everything else is pretty much set in stone as far as what it does.

If you go to www.ballisticmotorsports.com... they have it in their forums somewhere about the unit with the S2K.
