Default Lotus Experts in the Area?

I'm thinking about buying an older Lotus Esprit. Does anyone know someone in the area that is knowledgeable and might be able to give some advice about a car?

Thanks,

Tom

There's this lotus specialty shop/dealer in hopewell, NJ. They might be a great place to ask.

LEO site seems to be down. Then again I haven't seen Atwell Haines in years. The NJ Lotus chapter of Lotus Ltd used to be very active. See if you can dig up any contact info and they will steer you right, though I would recommend against an Esprit as other than a 3rd or 5th or 8th car...

If you hold off until 2015 the new esprit will be out. And apparently repirts indicate almost 800hp but then again its also stated to cost in the neighborhood of $250k haha. The new elise coming in 2015 looks amazing though. You should youtube the video for it.

Sport and Specialist Cars was a branch of the Princeton Honda / Princeton Saab dealerships. When he moved into Hopewell about 10 years ago, it separated itself a bit, but it's still owned by the same owner. Steel Wheels was the name of the previous car shop there IIRC. I think the sign is still up for historical purposes.

IIRC , he has a never sold Esprit Turbo in Yellow still at the shop. I remember seeing it when I got my first S from Princeton Honda, and my 2nd S from the S/S shop.

I drive by once in a while from work to see whats up. The FB page has some nice photos of some of the cars that visit the shop.

If you wanted a real project. There's a rusted out Esprit on Main St. in Pennington, about a minute North of the main intersection in town. I think it's a local Volvo/European shop. Been there at least 15 years in horrible shape on flat tires.
