money shift is when you mechanically overrev the engine by putting it in the wrong gear i.e. going 80mph in 5th and instead of downshifting to 4th, you put it into 2nd.

it costs a lot of money to fix the bent valves and/or replace the engine, so they call it a money shift

when u shift perfectly....soo lets say ur going from 2nd to 3rd and u dont drop outta vtec...money shift ftw!

yea it could go both ways, depending on the context..

either you bend valves and/or destroy your engine because of a misshift, and you are out a lot of $$

or nailing a shift perfectly as joe said, i.e. "that shift was money"

either you got the shift 0% or 100% lol
