My Dog Bit me
I spent half the day yesterday in the ER, because my dog bit me
I still not sure what happened to make him react this way. I'm
also wondering if there might of been some abuse to him before I
got him because I have seen no aggression out of him until yesterday.
What hurts worse the puncture wounds in my hand & the possible
permanent nerve damage in my thumb is sitting here typing this and
He isn't sitting next to me I know this my sound cheesy to some of
you but I really fell in love with this dog and it cuts like a knife that he
is gone. I'll give you the details :
I left him in the house alone for about 30-45 minutes like I have done
many times before to try and train him to behave while alone in the house
I came home and saw a bunch of papers torn up on the living room floor
so I took him by the collar , I didn't drag him or anything and I have disciplined
him like this a dozen times before as well as my roommate. As I brought
him to the mess to show him and then I was going to put him in the crate for
a time out, Out of no where he starts flipping out starts thrashing all
around, growling, and biting me...... Then he jumps up on top of the chair so
he is at my height and just starts growling at me he has drool coming out of
his mouth and every time I tell him to get down and go into the create he
just stares at me and growls and making these noises I have never heard
from him..... Scared the Shiiiite out of me but I stood my ground there was a
bit of a struggle but I managed to get him into the create and I locked it.
It was then I looked at my left hand and saw the blood and realized I was
bitten pretty deep and my hand was numb.... So I was freaking out I was home
all alone and I didn't want to go to the hospital because I was afraid they would
come and put blink down .... so after about 10-15 minutes I called my friend
she came over and drove me to Valley Hospital ER . They took care of my hand
and said the is a HIGH chance of infection so I'm taking these horse pills
to fight infection and the right side of my thumb feels numb hopefully that will
come back.
I'm not quite sure why I'm posting this but I feel pretty close to some of you
so it feels better talking about it ..... It was real hard getting up this morning
and Blink not being there and seeing the dog dish and the empty create.... But
on the flip side I'm alive and so is the dog he will go through some observation
and hopefully some rehab with a trainer to figure out what triggered this and
maybe they can break him of that. But the START program took him back and
wont put he to sleep so that makes me feel a little better.... Thanks for listen
to me everyone.

Mike, sorry to hear this, it really sucks, I am a dog lover myself, i have always grown up and always had at least one dog in my house though out my life. I have to have a dog. Sometimes crazy ish like this happens and there is nothing you can do about it. But you have to look at the fact that you are ok and you can always replace the dog. Don't let this scare you towards all dogs.

Ouch Mike....that is a tough one...you grow to raise this dog then it turns on you....
the worse part is not know why he did what he did....if only dogs could talk.

Ouch! Sounds like you got quite a scare, nothing like having an animal act agressive. Glad to hear your doing ok. Those guys on that MTV show Wildboyz are just asking for that to happen to them from a lion or something. Feel better. Jeff
