OK !! we will need charcoal, lighter fluid, hamburgers (fresh not frozen) , franks, chicken (maybe) , rolls, pickles, tomatoes, salads (mac, pota, coleslaw -- but how will we keep these things from spoiling ???), utensils (cutting boards, grill tools, knives, plates, glasses (?)), ice , coolers, ... gee --- anyone have a trailer for their S2000?? What else do we need ??
The ideal place to obtain virtually everything that we need for this shindig - at a reasonable price - would be Stew Leonards -- on Route 87 SEE:
http://www.stew-leonards.com/
It is open every day from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
it is a wonderful store - with terrific, fresh products -- adjacent to the yonkers store is a Costco -- but they do not open that early in the morning. Stew Leonards IS open early in the morning - so we could stop there on the way to the event. The driving time from Stews to the park is probably about 30 - 45 minutes at the most.
I would suggest that, in view of huge variety of beverages out there, that many people have their own favorites, and the fact that we all have limited storage space, that we each plan on bringing our own beverages, and any thing that we would like to have with us to keep those beverages cool; an alternative would be if someone volunteered to bring cases of soda, ice and coolers for the beverages who had an SUV ?? BUT -- then we will have to buy much more than we really need to cover all the possible choices - and will have beverages left over.
I volunteer to pick up........ whatever (within reason)........ on the way to the event; or to meet anyone else at Stew Leonards on the way to the event and go shopping .
