Rear Bumper Paint Mis-Match

Rear Bumper Paint Mis-Match
Hello all.
I swapped my AP2 rear bumper w/ an AP1 and I recently had the AP1 repainted Silverstone.
The problem is that the rear bumper does not match the quarter panels. The body shop repainted the rear bumper twice. The second time, the body shop also repainted the quarter panels along w/ the rear bumper. The color still does not match. The rear bumper looks to be a shade darker and looks to have less pearls.
Do you think the bumper mis-match is due to the age of the rear bumper? Could it be that it was repainted too many times (the bumper was probably repainted before I got it)?
What would you do if you were in my situation?
Im trying to determine whether this is a bodyshop issue or a rear bumper issue. Thanks!!
(I'll post photos tomorrow)

My friend works in a body shop and I was told just about every bumper on a car is a slightly different shade of the color for the two following reasons:
1. The paint used on the bumper has a flex additive which changes the color ever so slightly.
2. The bumper is plastic and the quater panel is metal so the paint adheres differently to each.

I agree w/ the two points. However, they painted my rear bumper before & the match was fine. Also, the CR lip was painted and it matches the front bumper (plastic) & fenders (metal).
I can tolerate a slight difference. I understand its not going to be perfect. But its way off w/ two attempts to fix it.

I would try another shop

its hard to paint 1 panel and have it match the rest. they usually blend them. i know how particular you are about your car and its paint, so maybe you should have it blended with your rear quarter panels so it matches. if you're going to the same shop that you went to in the past, they're a pretty damn good shop and i dont know what kind of results you will get elsewhere.
