S2000 Bordom, Blasphemy?
#11
Over the past few years I've seen a few people get out of their S only to get back in one a year or two later. Part of owning an S is trying to keep in perspective how well sorted the car is in so many respects. There are plenty of flashier and/or more powerful options out there but there's something to be said for a car that was engineered for pure driving enjoyment.

learning how to REALLY drive an s will have you regretting those thoughts of boredom. autox, trackdays, whatever... until you're actually driving it to the levels its engineers designed the car for, people should just settle for gangsta leaning in a yugo.

Mark, have you been to the Dragon? If not take the car there. Its well worth the trip! Every S owner should go at least once, get a good appreciation of what this car is capable of.

Take it to the track, and learn what it can do. Put your mods into the driver. You'll have a whole new respect for the car.

I never thought the day I would own an S2000 since I didn't want a Honda because of some of the people I have meet who owned civics and a lot of them were stealing from each other. I looked into a lot of cars before landing on an s2000. I looked into EVO's since a friend of mine had a 500hp one, I looked into 240sx, 350Z and 370Z since am a big Nissan fan. A friend of mine one day shows up with an s2000 to my house, I drive it and was amazed at how much fun the car was. It wasn't the fastest car in the world, but taking those mountain drives top down, cant beat it. The S2000 has everything I want in a car which is NOTHING. It only has the basic items that I need which are RWD, AC, heat, radio, a seat, and 3 pedals.
I have been so happy since I bought this car and I don't plan on getting rid of it. If I sell the car, I will lose a lot more money since I wont get what I bought the car for. A friend of mine had a VW which he bought brand new with a basic bolt on's and some nice rims and then sold it a few years later only to lose over 6k in the sale. Sorry, that's too much for me. If you get rid of the S2000 for something better, it's got to be a Porsche GT3 (which I can't afford).
I do plan to do some auto cross and hopefully get down to the tail of the dragon. I do plan on going turbo by the end of 2012 if all goes well. I got a ride in sunman car and was sold. Thanks sunman

I purchased a new daily driver and let my S sit for about two weeks. Couple days ago I jumped in it and drove it to run some errands. I fell in love with it all over again. Drive something else for a bit and you will understand. Nothin like this car for the money.
