I don't know where you got your motors but before I had my s2000 I had a S13 with a redtop and was my DD pushing a bar of boost.

Had that car for about 4 years and gave me ZERO problems. The only thing you need to do is get some rocker arm stoppers and thats it.

Head failure is a common problem with sr. Out of all the people I know with a non built sr, all of those motors fail during a year. You just got lucky. Why not build F20 and boost that? any benefit by using sr over F20/F22?

Never had any issues with any of my SR20DET powered cars. Pretty lucky, I must say.

Any benefit of using SR over F-motor starts from the actual motor built for turbo applications.

I also am one of those guys with zero issues with a stock DET motor. As a matter of fact, im going to be building another one since the S is practically done and over with.

"Lucky.." lol

It's either an error in picking the motor or an error in upkeeping the motor.

I say a mix of both. You either get a bad pick, have a bad supplier, or a bad prior owner. You really are taking a chance with used motors without the chassis in tact.

Also, what constitutes lucky?

Lucky is whenever we break through the 1 year mark without head failure. j/k
