Thumbs up When do you put your winter tires on?

There comes a time when summer high perfomance tires no longer cut it on the roads...they slide like hockey pucks.
When do YOU change them to 'winter tires'?

No Later than Thanksgiving. Rule of thumb is below 40 degrees. It could be warm during the day. Just be careful of frost in the morning and after sunset. And falling leaves I know from experince

Big misconception here. SNOW tires will give worse traction in the cold.

I thinks it's best to wait until snow is iminent.

The blizzak's are supposed to be winter performance tires that also work in snow.
As opposed to straight up snows. What would be the correct tires for cold weather and no snow?
