Windshield replacement?

Check your insurance first if your a NY resident 99% chance your covered.
I don't want to get into a long dissertation but i wouldn't go to any glass shop that
isn't " AGRSS " certified and make sure you see the cert hanging somewhere on the
wall. Also check and make sure the guy that is doing yours is the one with the cert.
Right now the law only states that only one person is required to have the cert training
and the whole shop is covered .... but there trying to change that.
If the crack is a nickel in size it should be okay for repair but if its a quarter in size
or larger don't repair it. No matter what anyone tells you its not okay to repair.
To put it in perspective the modern day cars windshield makes up for 70% or
more of a vehicles structural integrity and with a S2000 being a drop top its
even more. The windshield also also is used to make sure your air bag is properly
deployed, so please don't go to auto zone and buy some home repair kit.

To the best of my knowledge you NY guys are covered by insurance and
there isn't any surcharge for it, although some companies have limits to
windshield service like maybe one replacement for the life of the vehicle
or X number of chip repairs and then they charge you a deductible.

When I did it to the lude, some guy just came by in a white van, did it in my drive way and was done in a few minutes. I paid him $200 even. I forget the name of the company.

Well I called up my insurance and since it's after hours they said they'll let me know what the deductible is either tomorrow or Monday.
They said safelite which merged with diamond triumph is the default shop and I can recommend any shop to them in NY. So I guess does anyone have any recommendations in Rockland or Westchester?

So it turns out that I'm NOT covered and safe lite auto wants 370 after tax to do my windshield and molding... So out of pocket it looks like I'm going to have to do. =[
