But then technically you aren't carrying the same license. I thought you meant that you had the same license for that amount of years. In that case as far as I know NY licenses are valid till you die. You just have to renew it every 7 or 10 years (I forget). But you never have to take the exam over again.

How much is the one time fee? Btw, I was in Phoenix area, Scotsdale, Chandler, Ahwatukee over the weekend. Pretty nice area, very friendly people. We might move there next year depending on how much they offer $.

Depends on at what age you get the license:
The fees are based on age, as follows:
16-39 $25.00
40-44 $20.00
45-49 $15.00
50-above $10.00
I grew up in the Catalina Foothills of Tucson and use to visit the Scottsdale area... it's much better for s2000 driving... There are some great roads near Camelback Mountain.... but prepare for VERY high electricity bills in the Summer due to the heat...and watch for bark scorpions, tarantulas and rattlesnakes... other than that... it's very scenic with tons of outdoor life... there are some great caves to go spelunking, great hiking, cycling, camping and even skiing (both water and snow).

I'd imagine for those 3 months of the year where it's 100+ it'd be to hot for the top to go down on the s2000. I was told electricity averages about $200 a month. But figure you hardly ever use heat charges so it evens out, I guess.

You will use the heat at night...for about 4 months of the year. It get fairly cold in the desert at night...
The monsoon season is one of my favorite times of year... some of the most spectacular lightning in the US.
