Looks like an evolution of the Civic dashboard with a lot more buttons. Judge for yourself @

I thought the pod in the Civic would be bothersome but when I drove the 08, it's really kinda handy to have the speedo up there but only because I did not want to exceed the speed limit with someone else's car

That speedo right up in your face might be really annoying if I drove it every day

I love the speedo up in my face. For one it ensures I dont have to look down to see how fast I'm going. Love it or hate it - I think its safer to have speed displayed close to the line of sight when driving.

But I have friends (from back in Atlanta) that hate the Si's cluster. They all bought BMW's because they think Honda's are underpowered and require a lot of work. For me though the H cars are a lot more fun, and any day I'd rather buy an S over a Z4 or a 335 (provided I can afford one).

When I drive the wifes 07 Si I really like the dash arrangement.

Levi - As you have the 07 Si, I'm sure you did not incur the cost of TPMS sensors for snow tires.

The only thing holding me back from getting snow tires is that TPMS is an extra $350+$100 for initialization at the dealer. Add that to the $700 that it will cost to get snow tires + steel wheels from tire rack and I find I cant afford it right now. I will be ordering once I get my wages on Dec 1st.

I wish they had not installed TPMS. oh! and the rationale for getting TPMS sensors - you cant switch off VSA if the TPMS light is on,, which will be tough if I was stuck in snow. I got that part about VSA from the 8th Civic forum.

I could try saving money for tires by doing this to pay for utilities ;-)

Nope, don't have the TPMS that you speak of, what is it, I'm going to guess tire pressure monitoring system?
I got a set of snows and steel wheels last year from the tire rack, great service.

My ex CONSTANTLY reminded me how many MPH over the speed limit I was going. That speedo up there would only have encouraged him

When I bought the GPS it asked me if I wanted a warning when I exceeded the speed limit...

WTF? No way! I just got rid of the "device" I had that did that

Yes TPMS is the Tire Pressure Monitoring System. I believe the NHTSA requires all vehicles starting 2008 to have it.

Its a pain in that I will have to pay the dealer to initialize the sensors on the snow tires and pay him again when I switch back to initialize the summer tire sensors.
