Lowering an AP1
I know im supposed to search first, but I figured id ask...
Ive ordered a set of Tein S Techs.
Loweres the car 1 Inch.
Ive Heard you need halfshaft spacers when lowering AP1's. But i dont know if you need them for only 1 inch.
Anyone know?

One of the first things I did to my S2k was lower it and that was back in 2003. I only dropped in by 1 inch also using Eibach springs. I don't have any issues about the halfshafts wearing faster but if you're running 255's or wider you'll most likely have a rubbing issue on your rear fenders.
From what I've been told, its more than likely not an issue with the halfshaft spacers but it is indeed in the back of my mind to do anyway.
The other thing is that your alignment is going to be out, especially the camber making them push more negative. Its good for handling and cornering but your tires will rub down on the inside leaving the rest of the tire fairly unscathed.
There are some pieces out there to correct this issue and re-align the roll center of the car's suspension but from what I've sourced they will cost about $500 for both front and rear.
(another piece of equipment I'm considering in the future)

im gonna have to roll my fenders i think. Im gonna be running 255/35R18 in the rear.
I orderes the halfshaft spacers anyway. I figured i might as well incase i evern wanna go lower.
as far as an alignment goes, weve got a rack at Mavis. I should be able to get it on there. If not my old college has one. ill have them do it.

Running 255's in the rear does not mean you WILL have to roll your fenders. It depends on your wheel offsets. When I had Work S2R's, the offset in the rear was +63. I am lowered on H&R sport springs which gives a .75" drop in the rear and .6" in the front. I did not rub at all and I was running 255/ 35/18's.
Now I have 18" TE37's with the same size tires I had on my Works. I'm not exactly sure of the offsets but I get some rubbing now if I go iver a sudden bump while cornering....usually on on/ off ramps. I thought rolling the fenders would eliminate the rubbing but it still happens from time to time.
What wheels do you have and what are the specs?

I don't exactly remember the offset of my wheels but if its easier then they are the Mugen MF10's, 17" and I'm using 225's on the front and 255's on the rear. I'd have to go look to see the rest of the size but thats generally the jist of it.

Also, Nick if you know of a place that does fender rolling let me know, I'd like to get this done this summer. (or do most body shops do this?)

my rear rims are 18x9 with a 50mm offset
255/35R18.
They might rub. If Harborfreight has a fender roller, I might pick one up and practice on my truck. Then do it on the S2k
