Default Mark (Conedodger) causing trouble at autocross!

Brian Cass (silly, loud, saggy doored DSP? neon) linked me to this last night and I got a pretty good laugh out of it.

So, what was the outcome? I couldn't get a feel for what was going on from the rest of the set, but it looked to be pretty much under control.

A CP Mustang has spun there just a few minutes earlier (right at the finish after a fairly high-speed slalom) and taken out part of the finish lights - big dent in the side of the car. Mark thought he'd try it again whilst impressing a rider but totally blew it - he missed the lights. Big cloud of dirt (he can describe what he saw in the video), took out 2-3 cones and ended up in the right direction with the engine running. I could get a better series if folks would just tell me when and where they were going to do it... The sequence starts here:

I ended up in 1st with Mark in 2nd. I'm sure he'll blame it on toasted rear Hoosiers but I'm running on good ol' Victoracers...

I saw the results. You still using those wheels you loaned me last year? It was so nice to be able to destroy a set of tires at the track and just swap on rubber for the drive home.

Wild ride! There was a short slalom after the fastest part of the course. (I hit about 8600 rpm in second before braking for the slalom.) I was late turning in for the 2nd to last slalom cone, the car rotated and pointed towards the weeds. Not wanting to go there, I tried to keep it on the pavement by turning back towards the finish. The car did a complete 360, dipping the rear wheels in the dirt on the way around. I spent 2 hours cleaning dirt/weeds/stones out of the interior last night.

I've got it on video, but I'm on dial-up and have no place to host it.

Oh, yeah, same wheels, just LOTS of brake dust on them now. Dang near black. The brakes seem to be dusting less now for some reason...
