Thumbs up Off-Season Plans

If the season has not winded down for you, then it is probably on the verge of coming to a close. I know that for some it is just a matter of putting some snow tires on and keeping at it.

What plans do you have for the off-season to combat cabin fever? Any projects that you will be working on?

Coming to me, I want to catch up on reading. Have not really been able to read as much as I want to all summer long. Yard work, car stuff and work has not really helped me. I have two books in The Last Open Road series that I am looking forward to completing. I will also be traveling a fair bit, as in more so than in the past. Will likely be out in Feb to go spend a couple of weeks with my parents.

Need to work on fitness too as I can see it directly translate into results on track. Quit smoking yet again and hope to make it stick this time around. Lost about 20 lbs and need to see if I can drop another 20 or more so I will be in better shape next season.

If I lived close to Fasting, I would love to go help him out with his NSX work. I think I'll also try to get a winter meet going after the holiday season is done. Mark 355 and I talked about getting together for coffee, maybe we can also try to set up a meet in Mid-Jan at Dino BBQ or some other place.

There is still one tree that has not shed its leaves, It usually sheds once the city is done with their pickup for the season. I have that to do and some other minor things and then will be all set to hole-up for the winter.

Trying to work out more.

Getting my son to get the leaves done as well as his room renovation before he leaves for the Navy at the end of January.

11 days in Hawaii with Becky and family end of February!

As some of you may or may not know, I collect old video games and systems. Best way to fight cabin fever while holed up in the middle of a snowstorm? Play old games!

I have such a backlog of games to start/finish up/replay that I actually look forward to the winter.

Obligatory (old) picture of my old-school gaming room:

My "small" collection is now over 300 games...

I keep telling myself I'll get to them all someday.

Need to finish the front entry closet. Then on to a small remodel of the powder room. Repaint and new shelves in the laundry room. Catch up on Moto2.

oh...and lose another 15 lbs. before autocross begins.

Cone... I need to lose your 15 and raise you 35.

Cars:
2k- Finally put on the front tires. The ones on it have chords showing on the inside.
I want black full length mats. That's all. It's perfect.

NSX- Drop engine. Do timing belt, rear main and trans input seal, waterpump, oil sender, all water hoses, detail brakes/rotors, fix window regulator drag.
...and a little PDR on the hood where it is theoried that a supermodel parked her butt on the hood for a photoshoot.
