Resale value
Hey Guys!!!
Are any of the original crew still on here?
Since selling my S2k 6ish years ago I have been into EV's. I bought a Plug in Prius and now I own a brand new Toyota Rav4 EV (only available in CA. If I told you how I got it I would have to kill you)
Kidding aside, one of my ideas I have been toying with is electrifying an S2000. This would mean pulling out all of the drivetrain and electronics and installing batteries and an ac motor. I was checking out the market place and I found this

I was shocked because I could've held on to my 2000 S2000 and drove it for another 100,000 miles and still got the same amount! I sold mine about 6 years ago for somewhere around $13k (there is a thread around here somewhere)
Needless to say, damn! your resale value is HOT!!!! Why is the resale value of the S2k so high!? Sure its an amazing car and extremely fun to drive but wow!!!

Some of the resale value is due to the Honda factor and the dedicated owners of this car. A larger factor though IMO is how special this car is and the feat of engineering it is at the price point.
Good to see one of the Upstate OGs post up

New member here, been lurking for a while finally decided to join. Do you think the resale holds true here? I`ve had mine up for sale for a while now in the 13-14k range which I think is very reasonably (01 with 58k miles). Can`t seem to get that, have had a few offers for 12, i just can`t go that low with how much I have in the car.

^ can't really say without knowing much about your car. If you have a ton of mods on the car, I don't think they will necessarily make it appreciate. The $12K range seems fine to me with exceptions made on price for condition of the car or mileage. Stick to your guns. Now is the wrong time to be expecting a good price on an S2K. Summer you should get close to if not your asking price. Good luck.
