Track Days 2017 - Itching to Get on Track
#41
The open to all pertains to their 3 day event at Lime Rock where the first day is ladies only but day 2 &3 are open to all sexes.
No idea if they are S2000 friendly. Hoping Greg has run with them and should chime in.
This gives me hope that someone like NTD or SCDA will have an event there. If they do, be sure to run there before the track is closed to non-members.

I have done AUDI events with the several chapters (NE and NJ) both as a student and as an instructor but my track car was fully caged for all events.
Best to reach out to the chapter and ask what they require, sometimes it varies from track to track.

So I know you guys said I am good at SCDA events without a roll bar but just wanted to confirm because of this on their website:
WHAT IS YOUR CONVERTIBLE POLICY?
For safety reasons, all convertibles (Boxster, Miata, Corvette, BMW Z4, Honda S2000, Pontiac Solstice etc.) are required to have a roll bar that meets the following two criteria in order to be eligible to run during any event. 1) The roll bar must be in the fixed position and visible at all times. This means that roll bars which are designed to automatically deploy are not acceptable unless they are in the full upright and locked position at all times. 2) The roll bar must allow the driver to pass the “broomstick” test which means that the top of the drivers helmet must be below the line from the top of the roll bar to the top of the windshield. There are aftermarket roll bars and/or seats which can be used to help meet these requirements. If your convertible meets these standards, then you are welcome to participate! Factory hard tops are acceptable, as well.

Stock S2000 is OK with SCDA and NASA-NE. But run top up to avoid any issues. Otherwise track stewards might black flag you and have you come in for a measurement. It happened to me at Watkins Glen and I saw it happen two times at Lime Rock with Loose Nuts. At Watkins Glen, I had to lay my seat back a bit - but after that, I started to run top up. Buddy Seat Rail should help. Put your motorcycle helmet on and see if you fit. Then quit worrying!
