Well, I thought the 4Runner had a tow capacity of 5,000 lbs, but reading the owner's manual, only 3,500. So that is a bust.
The Escape has 168,000 miles. It has a significant oil seal leak, a maybe questionable transmission and 8 years of New York / New England salt and brine, so plenty of rust - so much that they were unable to do a wheel alignment. It is a true winter beater now.

You make your Escape sound like it is ready for retirement.

Well, the cat is out of the bag. I'm buying a new Civic Type R.
I put down a deposit two months ago back in early January and I've been waiting for the last two months for a build order to come in. The car arrived at the dealer yesterday, and today I was able to take my first look at it in person.
Don't worry, the S2000 isn't going anywhere. I'll be trading in Sarah's Sonata on this. I'm taking delivery this Saturday.
So, once all three cars in my driveway are Hondas, when do I get my fanboy membership card? Or do I need to buy a Honda motorcycle, lawnmower, and generator first?

It'll look even better once it has been detailed. That pretty much was the look off-the-truck, and it was a bit dirty.
Keeping the S and the Ridgeline. Trading in Sarah's Sonata for the CTR. So the Ridgeline is "hers" and the CTR is "mine". At least, it is mine till Sarah learns how to drive stick. Because this is what any sensible person would do with a kid on the way - trade in the family sedan for a....um, family sedan?
Originally I wanted Boost Blue Pearl, but when I heard the car coming in was Championship White, I started looking at more pictures of the white. It really made the red & black accents pop. Now I don't think I would want any other color. Well, except for the Phoenix Yellow on the LE, but I can't justify paying $15k more for that!
The seats are nicely bolstered. The steering wheel is suede and feels oh-so-nice in my hands, whilst simultaneously I'm thinking "how the hell am I gonna keep this clean?"
It is just so bonkers in all the right ways. If I showed this to my 16-year-old self twenty five years ago, I think he'd high five me. Then probably punch me in the gut for getting a little rotund.
Already have my first mod for it. The Canadian models get a 'vtec turbo' sticker across the back beneath the 3rd brake light. No idea why the USDM doesn't get it. I figure it'll add a good fifteen horsepower.
I have a long list of mods planned for it, but mostly I'll be sticking to the cosmetic side for now. Need to get a good feel for the car before I start introducing go-fast goodies.
