How does the driving dynamic of the Miata compare to the S2000?

Yea nice MX5. I've looked at them in the showroom. The one in the showroom was much nicer than my 06 (NC) but mine is the base model. 1.8L 5spd.
The NC isn't near the car the S2000 is but still lots of fun. Nearly all the driving mine gets is in the city and during winter. Great in traffic and easy to park. Not much power but the engine has a lot of torque.
My wife and I have taken the S2000 on trips through Maine and Canada but the trunk is a bit larger than the MX5. This coming summer we plan on driving to Nordkapp, about 1500 km from home.I would like to take the MX5 so hopefully everything we need fits.
To my eyes the ND is a much better looking car than the NC.

Im with you Rich. The ND definitely looks far superior to the NC. However I got to drive an NC race cars twice courtesy of Skip Barber and I just loved how well they handled. The only issue, and its not really major is that you hit redline sooner on the MX5. I often found myself hitting the rev limiter first session out before I had to remap my mind to shift sooner.

That trip sounds like a lot of fun. If you guys take the Miata, be sure to share pics

You should put this decal on the MX5

Here is a picture from Norway last June. The roof is the cabin we stayed in. The view is to the direction we came from. We drove our Hyundai on this trip.

Beautiful location Rich. No wonder you want to drive the MX5 on the trip.

Perhaps, well not perhaps for sure, one of the reasons I post less is that half the time I take the time to post from my phone half of my reply gets omitted. Its painful enough from my phone but to have to recreate the post is a big pita.

That last picture was Geiranger, the town at the end of Geiranger Fjord I'm not sure what the very north of Norway is going to be like. From there we went north on the Trollstigen road then as far north as the Lofoten Islands then east across Sweden to home..If you ever go to Norway my suggestion is have plenty of time and drive there.
All I know about Nordcapp is there is a tunnel to get to the island so no idea what the land will look like. BTW Norway is full of tunnels. Some long over 20km and as much as 5% grade. We even ran into one with a roundabout.

Fjord cruise
