Is it just me or do touchscreens other than apple products have awful touch screen response? I bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 for Solostorm and the screen lag annoys the hell out of me. Also, when I try to scroll up & down on a web page, the page zooms in / out. Am I doing something wrong? This is the most frustrating piece of hardware I've used in a while.

its the UI man, if you can get back to basics like rooting that bish to run cynogen. it will respond much better. one of the main issues with the HTC stuff too but luckily its not as bad and they have fixed the Sense Overlay. XDA-developers has your fix.

I have messed with iPads that aren't so responsive. It is usually OS or overloaded. Check for updates or root it.
I did a side by side comparison with my Nexus 7 to an iPad. No difference.

I tried the Nexus 7 and the touchscreen was great. No lag at all. I can't believe the difference between the Samsung & Nexus 7. Is there a way to make the Samsung react like the Nexus? Or is this a hardware limitation? One thing I like about the Samsung is that it has a MicroSD slot. So I will be able to grab the memory card from the GoPro & watch video in between autox runs. The Nexus 7 doesn't have a MicroSD slot. Still debating if I should return & get a Nexus 7.

you are computer savvy, its just the bloated OS on the samsung. you can root it to run much faster with less UI bloatware. i personally would go with the nexus. you can always get a reader plug in for the nexus. it has full USB slots correct?

I second the root recommendation. The reason why Nexus 7 and iPads are so great is that they limit the bloatware. They are much leaner OSs and therefore run smoother. The Samsung tablet can also be low on processing power compared to the Nexus and iPad. Nexus has a great processor and playing Dead Trigger on it is badass.

You can also go into settings and disable as many default features that you can to make sure it is not running heavy.

If you get the Nexus 7 you can buy a 2 dollar cable adapter that connects to the mini usb port and Install Nexus Media Importer. The non card slot on the Nexus 7 is my only complaint but I have managed to work around it using Skydrive, Evernote and Google drive.
