Default How is this legal?

I had to pick some stuff up for one of the cars and took the mini cooper to the local NAPA. When i got out of the shop this thing was parked next to me. The thing was jacked to the sky. It seemed you needed a ladder to even get into the cab. How is that legal? I understand and appreciate a lift to a certain degree, but this was just stupid. Yes, i know there is alot worse, but this guy also seemed to use the thing as his work truck.

what trucks come that height stock? This was an F250 with at least a 2-3 foot raise. I don't even consider the south part of this country, but i you are right... its another world!

you can lift a car but not lower it because it lowers the headlights and bumper beam? doesnt make sense to me because raising a car does the same thing, it alters the bumper beam and headlights.

lowering and lifting should both be illegal and probably are, but you wont see a lifted truck not passing inspection or getting a ticket for being too high. you will however see california police taking tape measures and measuring the height of headlights on a honda on the side of the road.

It may be illegal. I just dont think they get harrassed as much as cars that are lowered. I know certain standards where changed in order to not make SUV's so high a few years back due to insurance claims and accidents.

Just think what it would be like if that truck rear ended you going about 40mph. His engine would probably end up over your head at that hight.

Sorry but there's little to no chance that's a 2-3 FOOT raise. I'd say 4" and maybe a few more on the wheels/tires he's running. That's honestly not that bad and like others posted some of the F350 SD and Dodge 2500 series trucks sit almost that high from the factory. The pic is skewed sitting it next to a mini as well, next to a MDX I bet it doenst look nearly as lifted.
