I'm thinking of getting the Fanatec CSR Elite steering wheel w/ clubsport pedals (for the xbox/ps3/pc) so that I can practice my driving on weekdays. Anyone here have a Fanatec wheel?

Clyde, what was your first car? And to stay on topic, what was the last piece of IT / network equipment you touched?

There was a pretty good article comparing game racing to real life racing a while back in Gameinformer. I don't think it will help much and might actually throw your real driving off. It was also suggested that if you are to do it that you race in the mode where you have the car in front of you and not the in car mode. Makes sense since you can understand the concept from autox'ing that you are constantly looking ahead a few cones and not always in front of you.

Hit up Steve. I forget which wheel he has but he has a pretty bad ass home setup.

Speaking of network devices and such .. So the consultant we used to use here is a huge fan of tape back ups. Anyone still using that old pain in the royal ass way of back up? LOL

Why selling the iPad 2? Getting the one with retna?

I was a little envious when some of my coworkers got them to work with. That quickly faded when I actually used it. I guess I expected it to be a laptop replacement. It was nice for entertainment purposes. Tech end is very limiting. So I ended up getting the Nexus 7. Traded in my Wii and some old games and was able to get it for 150 from gamestop.

nope, getting the Kindle Fire HD (7").

I mainly use the iPad for reading the paper, economist, and books. Sometimes put some movies on it for when i fly; etc. I can do all of that in the kindle fire hd. Also i mainly wanted a smaller tablet. I try to keep my bag as light as possible since i travel a lot.

i was debating being the nexus 7 & kindle fire hd too. I picked the Fire mainly b.c im a amazon prime member and mainly use it for reading.
