Which Razor do you use?
So I'm getting into classic shaving. Just picked up a Gillette Fatboy and a Gillette Slim in EXCELLENT condition. Paid quite a lot for it though.
Either way, I couldn't justify spending $200 for the Merkur Vision http://www.theartofshaving.com/shop/product/67018/11 just yet without knowing if I will continue this. If I'm still at this in 2 months, I'll definitely get it. Went to the mall today and got the Art of Shaving Sandalwood Shaving Cream. Omg, it's so awesome. Lathers up so nicely, doesn't dry up your face, and it smells masculine so it was definitely a good buy. Lathered it up on my face using my dad's old brush he hasn't used in probably over a decade.
Just waiting for my razor to come now ...
I have quite a collection of razors... few Mach 3s .. couple Fusions ... some Norelco that I never use. I hate electric. I have this razor called the Magnum from Costco. It's actually really good. Comparable to the Fusion at a fraction of the cost! I'd recommend it but the blades in those cartridges are really sharp. Got nicked plenty.
Well, anyone else use a DE Razor?

i meant it doesn't have any fruity smell to it .. it's a good earthy scent.
i'm addicted. i want to check out Proraso (Italian shaving cream ... also packaged as CO Bigelow Shave Cream) next. Next time I go to the mall..
I started shaving with the Gillette shown in your advert. I guess I'm a bit older than most on this forum and it is also what my dad used at the time. A great shave but you had to be real careful. I walked out the door to high school many times with my face covered in little bits of toilet paper trying to stop the bleeding from the nicks on my face.
Currently I'm using a Fusion.
The key to a great shave is using a shaving brush. I had always used shave cream and applied by hand until I picked up a brush at The Art of Shaving. IMO, it makes such a difference that I picked up a travel brush for vacations.
